Original jazz and soul shaped by Italian tradition
Italian singer, songwriter and pianist Anna Panzanelli brings her band to Toulouse Lautrec for an evening of original music, sophisticated arrangements and expressive storytelling.
Blending jazz, soul and pop, Anna performs songs from across her career alongside new material set to feature on her forthcoming third album. The programme also includes thoughtful interpretations of standards and influential pop songs, from the music of Burt Bacharach to selections from the Great American Songbook.
Drawing equally from English-language and Italian songwriting traditions, Anna’s music combines lyrical storytelling with rich jazz harmony, carefully crafted arrangements and memorable melodic lines. Her wide-ranging influences include Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Bruno Martino and Bill Evans.
Joined by an outstanding band of European musicians, Anna presents a warm and personal performance where original songwriting meets the elegance of jazz and the emotional directness of soul.
About Anna Panzanelli
Originally from Perugia, Italy, Anna Panzanelli is a singer, songwriter and pianist whose music crosses the boundaries between jazz, soul and contemporary songwriting.
She has released two albums, Bluer than Blue in 2018 and Inchiostro in 2022, the latter released by Egea Music, one of Italy’s leading jazz labels and distributors.
Since beginning her professional career in 2017, Anna has performed more than 80 concerts each year across Europe and beyond. Her appearances include Umbria Jazz, Experiment Festival, JazzUp Festival, Corte dei Miracoli in Milan, JZ Club in Guangzhou, Soho Jazz Club and London’s 606 Club.
