We’re thrilled to welcome Noel McCalla and his stellar quartet to Toulouse Lautrec for a night of pure groove and masterful musicianship. Known for his spine-tingling falsetto and soul-drenched vocals, Noel presents two vibrant sets featuring classic covers and original material, all delivered with flair, emotion, and improvisational energy.
From smooth croons to funk-driven howls, Noel transitions effortlessly across a dynamic setlist. Expect inspired renditions of classics by Curtis Mayfield, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Al Jarreau, and a stunning jazz reimagining of Sting’s “Fragile”. His original songs—including “Sleepless”, “Prove It”, and “The Real Thing”—stand confidently alongside these legends, showcasing his songwriting prowess and emotional depth.
In true jazz tradition, the performance is laced with improvisation, storytelling, and spontaneity. The poignant new track “Boy Toy, Gun Fun, Gun Bust, Boy Dust” is a powerful commentary inspired by real-world events, while “Grandma’s Hands” offers a touching tribute to Noel’s family roots.

Noel McCalla – Vocals
Acclaimed British soul and jazz vocalist with a career spanning five decades. Former lead singer of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band and featured artist with Mike Rutherford, Morrissey-Mullen, and Sniff ‘n’ the Tears.
Tim Cansfield – Guitar
Self-taught guitarist from Trinidad. Has worked with Elton John, Annie Lennox, Chaka Khan, Barry Gibb, and contributed to the music of both Paddington films.
Henry “King Thumb” Thomas – Bass
Legendary bassist and co-founder of BBC Rockschool. A respected session player with countless international credits across records, film, and television.
Nic France – Drums
Veteran UK drummer known for work with Bill Withers, Tanita Tikaram, David Gilmour, and jazz collective Loose Tubes. Currently a member of Soft Machine and educator at Goldsmiths College, London.
