An enticing and sophisticated blend of classical, jazz and Mediterranean influences. Quanta is a unqiue new group comprising 3 leading improvising musicians mixing classical, jazz and Mediterranean influences to present a a daring and exciting new approach to salon music.

All three members are known to Toulouse Laurtres audiences from their many performances - Violinist Tobie Medland is a virutoso violinist and the founder of the Gypsy Jazz Festival of London, and has performed with the likes of Fapy Lafertine, Stochelo Rosenberg and Adrian Moignard. Cellist Shirley Smart is established as one of the UKs most creative cellists, and draws on musical influences from 10 years of living in Jersualem. Ben Smith is recognised a a leading chamber musician and interpreter of contempoary works as well as formidable improviser.

The trio promises a dynamic and lively evening of music from around the world and an innovative and fresh perspective on chamber music performance.
