MONSTEROSA | Latin Jazz ft. Julian Ferraretto
MONSTEROSA | Latin Jazz ft. Julian Ferraretto
Monsterosa emerged from saxophonist Graeme Wilson's lockdown project to write new songs and instrumentals based on Italo Calvino's Marcovaldo stories. These follow a man trying to recapture country life in an urban setting, and the music follows the joy in each moment of possibility he finds. The melodies are rooted in jazz, taking in a wider love for soul, folk, and latin music, and played with the verve and precision of some of the UKs leading performers.
"The band are terrific...the whole ensemble play with a deftness and sensitivity... a joy to listen toβ (London Jazz News)
