Two shows. One spectacular evening.
This showcase brings together two intimate cabaret performances in one evening, celebrating the power of music to inspire, connect and transform.
Featuring international concert vocalist and musical theatre performer Adam Lacey, alongside soprano and actor Lyra Winters, this special double cabaret explores the songs, stories and personal moments that have shaped their artistic journeys.
In A Boy From Nowhere: The Road That Music Built, Adam Lacey reflects on a life in music, from singing in a church choir as a young boy and discovering the magic of cast albums, to performing on stages across the United Kingdom and around the world. With warmth, humour and honesty, Adam shares the soundtrack to his journey through musical theatre favourites, classical crossover and timeless concert repertoire.
The evening also features Waiting for the Music to Begin, Lyra Winters’ London solo cabaret debut. Through musical theatre, timeless melodies and personal storytelling, Lyra explores hope, resilience and the quiet power of anticipation, the moments before the curtain rises, before the first note is sung, and before a dream steps fully into the light.
Accompanied by acclaimed musical director and pianist Dean Austin, this evening offers a heartfelt celebration of becoming, belonging and the extraordinary road that music can build.

Waiting For The Music To Begin: Before The Curtain Rises ft. Lyra Winters
Sometimes the overture lasts years.
There is a peculiar beauty in anticipation. It exists in the hush before the orchestra plays, in the breath before the first note is sung, and in the fleeting stillness before the curtain rises. These moments are often mistaken for silence, when in truth they are rich with possibility. Everything is waiting. Nothing has begun. Yet somehow, everything already has.
Waiting for the Music to Begin was born from that idea.
We are often taught that life unfolds according to a timetable. Dreams are realised early. Certainty arrives quickly. Purpose reveals itself without hesitation. Yet life rarely follows the score we imagine for it. Some journeys begin later than expected. Some voices spend years waiting to be heard. Some dreams remain quietly in the wings until the moment is finally right for them to step into the light.
Through a carefully curated collection of musical theatre, timeless melodies and the stories that bind them together, this debut solo cabaret explores hope, resilience and the extraordinary capacity of music to accompany us through every chapter of our lives. Each song represents a moment, a memory, a question, or a quiet act of faith in what might still be possible.
This is not an evening about arriving. It is an evening about becoming.
Perhaps the most extraordinary part of any performance is not the applause that follows, but the silence that comes before it. It is the moment when the world seems to pause, every possibility remains intact, and the music is waiting to begin.
About Lyra
Lyra Winters is a soprano, actor and classically trained musician based in London, represented by DNA Talent.
Music and theatre have shaped Lyra’s life from the very beginning. She made her stage debut at just six weeks old and has continued performing ever since, appearing with operatic and musical theatre societies throughout her childhood and adult life in productions including The King and I, Carousel, The Secret Garden, The Pirates of Penzance, Merry England, Robin Hood and a concert production of The Phantom of the Opera.
Awarded a full music scholarship to Wells Cathedral School, one of the United Kingdom’s leading specialist music schools for young musicians, Lyra trained as a classical oboist. As a young musician, she received numerous awards for her musical achievements and performed extensively as both a soloist and orchestral musician, touring internationally from an early age. These experiences laid the foundations for the artistry, discipline and musicianship that continue to define her work today.
Inspired by a lifelong love of storytelling through music, Lyra completed a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre at Associated Studios. Alongside her training, she has performed professionally throughout the United Kingdom in concerts, cabaret, private and corporate events, presenting programmes of both musical theatre and classical repertoire. She has opened shows during London Fashion Week, shared the stage with celebrated West End performers, and performs regularly across theatre, concerts and live events.
Deeply influenced by her classical musical upbringing, Lyra has a particular passion for opera, operetta, classical crossover and the Golden Age of musical theatre. Drawn to repertoire that unites vocal artistry with compelling storytelling, she is committed to pursuing a career that embraces both the classical and musical theatre traditions.
Waiting for the Music to Begin marks Lyra’s London solo cabaret debut and the culmination of her Master’s degree at Associated Studios.
