Pere Bujosa Trio

Pere Bujosa Trio brings the sounds of the Balearic Islands into conversation with contemporary jazz, presenting music from the double bassist and composer’s new album, Illes Sonores, Vol. 1.

Joining Bujosa are pianist Diego Hervalejo and drummer Lluis Naval. Together, they explore the possibilities of the classic piano, double bass and drums line-up through layered rhythms, folk influences and free improvisation.

Drawing on Balearic musical traditions, modern jazz and electronic influences, the music moves between melodic passages and more exploratory territory. At its heart is a connection to Bujosa’s island heritage, reimagined through the trio’s open, contemporary approach.
